ANNOUNCEMENTS: The Downtown Optimist Club will have its Christmas Party the 18th of December the usual lunchtime at Dulany Hall.

Birthdays and Anniversaries: Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to everyone who had a birthday or anniversary this week.

GREETER: Wes Brown was today’s greeter, Wes told us a little about himself, his wife and their 5-year-old daughter. Wes has recently started working with American General Insurance. Congrats on the new job Wes.

PROGRAM: Meredith Donaldson presented the program today, which was about Rock Bridge Memorial State Park. Rock Bridge Memorial Park has a special connection with the Downtown Optimist Club. Dottie Stoerker-Peters along with her husband established the park as a memorial to their daughter. They accomplished this goal with a little help from the Downtown Optimist Club. As the park evolved and became more and more costly to operate the decision was made to allow the State to manage the Park. Today the Missouri Department of Natural Resources maintains the park.
This brings us to the crux of Meredith’s presentation about Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial Park. The purpose of the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is to promote the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the natural and cultural resources of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park.
The Friends of Rock Bridge Park are working very diligently to build the Discovery Center. The Center will be a fantastic resource for all those who wish to learn about the park and all it has to offer. More info can be found at: http://rockbridge.missouri.org/index.html
