MYSTERY PERSON was Jim Becket, who said he just likes the number seven and the seventh person to shake his hand was Ellis Havard!  Ellis gets free lunch next week!

TAIL TWISTER, Steve Henderson and his lovely assistant, Brenda Gibbs-Brown sold tickets for this week’s drawing which included one night’s stay at Holiday Inn, free glass of wine for two (yes, it has two straws … just kidding!) at Churchill’s and a nice breakfast the next morning.  The winning ticket holder was Tim Rappleano!  Congratulations Tim!

1)       PEP PROJECT report was given by Sid Sullivan who announced is was going very well.  He read off the names of the Russian visitors coming in May and asked for more volunteer homes for them to stay in during their visit, so contact Sid if you’re interested.  The Russian visitors will be at DOC Monday meeting then Memorial Day Air show the following weekend.

GREETER was Jim Martin, who mentioned he’s lived in Missouri for over 45 years.  He and his second wife of 12 years have seven children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  He moved to Jefferson City one year ago but wishes to maintain his membership in DOC, so he drives up here every Monday!

PROGRAM:   CHRISTINA TROST, 5th year as Behavior Specialist at Jefferson Junior High School talked to us about Jeff Junior’s tutoring program.  She’s looking for volunteers to help tutor kids during the day.  The tutoring is part of helping with the Accelaterated Schools program, which helps brings kids up to speed, not by “watering down” the curriculum but by teamwork with schools, teachers, staff, students, parents and the community. If you are interested in tutoring a student during the day, please contact her at Jeff Jr. High.
We closed with the OI Creed at 1:00 pm.
